2020 Marathon Scholars Program applications due January 15, 2020

If your child is graduating from high school in 2020, they may be eligible to apply for a Marathon Petroleum Scholars Program scholarship. The Program awards up to 100 scholarships in the amount of $4,000.

These scholarships are available to daughters and sons (including legally adopted children, step-children, and children under legal guardianship if both parents are deceased) if the parent or legal guardian is, or was at the time of retirement or death, a regular full-time or a regular part-time employee of Marathon Petroleum or Speedway. Part-time employees must have one year of service as of the application deadline. The parent must be an active employee (unless deceased or retired) at the time scholarship recipients are selected and at subsequent renewals. (Note that past recipients of either the Marathon Petroleum Scholarship Program or Andeavor Scholarship Program will have scholarships renewed under the same terms and amounts in place at the time the original scholarship was awarded.)

Applicants must be high school seniors with a minimum 3.0 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) who plan to enroll in a full-time undergraduate course of study at an accredited four-year college or university, or at an accredited two-year college or an accredited vocational-technical school. If planning to attend an accredited college or university, completion of the ACT or SAT is required.

The Marathon Petroleum Scholars Program application period is now open. Employees and their eligible dependents can view details and submit applications by going to the Scholarship America website. Employees with potential eligible dependents may receive a letter from Scholarship America regarding the above information; however, receipt of a letter is not required, and any eligible dependent may submit an application.
